Translations
How do you add translations for your Actions? Read everything you need to know on this page.
π€ Use AI-Generated Translations
In FT CRM we've made it easy to add translations to all your campaigns. You can either AI-generate translations in a matter of seconds or add your translations manually.
The first step to adding translations to your Activities is by setting up Communication Profiles.
💬 What are Communication Profiles?
With the help of Communication Profiles, you have the flexibility to send market-specific content and offers within the same Activity. This is also the way to add translations.
βοΈ How does it work?
Our Communication Profiles consist of multiple different settings. One of the main settings is the Segment that needs to be set for each Communication Profile.
The Segment in the Communication Profile will decide what players will get what translations/market-specific content in your Actions.
The Segment is most commonly based on 'Country of Registration' and/or 'Language'.
To clarify, the Segment in your Activity/Lifecycle is still your target audience but with the help of Communication Profiles, you add a filter on top. This filter makes sure that the correct version of the Action, with the translations and market-specific content, is sent to players that fulfill the criteria of any Communication Profile.
To sum it up, you should use Communication Profiles to make you more efficient and save you time from having to set up multiple Activities to achieve the same result.
💡 When to use it?
There are many different scenarios where you'd like, or even need, to be market-specific with your content and offers.
We have listed a few of these different scenarios:
- 💬 Translations Offer the relevant language for your players
- 👮♀ Compliance Honour regulatory compliance requirements for specific markets
- 🎭 Relevance Adjust offers and content for the best possible relevance to the different markets
- 🤑 Cost-saving Adjust offers for high-risk markets instead of excluding them
- 🚦 Availability Give alternative offers for markets with limited availability
🌐 Where can it be used?
Communication Profiles can be used with all Action types within an Activity.
🤷♂ How is it used?
Making use of Communication Profiles in your Activities is straightforward, fast, and easy.
You have two options to add translations to your Actions; AI-Generated or add manually.
π€ AI-Generated translations
With the latest AI technology, you can add translations within seconds.
Below we have a visual example of how smooth and easy it is to implement.
π‘ Tips:
- You can select multiple Communication Profiles in one go.
- If you want to edit the translations, simply click the Action and edit.
βοΈ Manually added translations
You also have the option to add translations manually:
🏴☠ How to set up Communication Profiles
You only need to set up a Communication Profile once. After it has been set up it can be found and used in any Activity going forward.
Below we have a step-by-step, guide on how to set up a Communication Profile.
In this example, we will set up a Communication Profile for Afrikaans/South Africa.
1. Create a Segment on the Segments page.
The name of the Segment will be what is shown in the drop-down when adding translations to your Actions.
2. Enter Communication Profiles from the Settings menu.
3. Click on Add Communication Profile.
Now you simply fill in the blanks:
Image URL
For the 'Image URL' we want an image of the South African flag πΏπ¦
You can paste an image URL in here or else click on 'Media' and upload the desired image in a suitable folder; or if it's already been uploaded, you can simply select the desired image from here.
Enabled
Tick this box for the Communication Profile to be enabled and available for use once saved.
Language
Here we want to select the language that we want to be associated with the Communication Profile. If we start typing the desired language, the options will appear accordingly.
The language needs to be set in order to utilise the AI-Generated translations.
Segment
This is where we select the Segment that we created for our Communication Profile.
SMS Encoding
Select either GSM7 (standard characters) or UCS2 (special characters) depending on the characters you'll use for your SMS messages for the specific Communication Profile.
SMS Stop Text
In this field, you have the option to enter the stop text that will be added automatically to every SMS being sent for this Communication Profile.
Unsubscribe Base URL
In this field, you have the option to enter a market-specific unsubscribe link for emails.
🧠 Note: The 'SMS Stop Text' and 'Unsubscribe Base URL' fields may be left empty if you want to use the defaulted texts/links.
Localisation
These are the settings relating to currency conversion when using AI-Generated translations.
We only need to fill in this section if the currency related to the Communication Profile is different than the base currency.
Choose currency
You can type to filter and select the desired currency.
Number formatting
Select the desired formatting for the currency.
FX rate against base currency
To get an automatic currency conversion, you enter the FX rate multiplier in this field.
π§ How to get the FX rate
Let's do an example:
We have EUR as our base currency
We want to add the FX rate for ZAR (South African Rand)
1 EUR = 20 ZAR
==> 20 is the FX rate multiplier we want to add to the field
4. Once you've filled all the mandatory and desired fields, click Save and ta-da 🎉 you've now created your new Communication Profile.
If it's enabled, you'll also have it as an available option when adding translations to your Actions.
🧙♂Tip: It's always advised that someone else checks the setup before enabling and making a new Communication Profile available for use.
🧠Note: If you operate with Player Origins and want to use Translations in Actions, the Communication Profiles must be added beforehand inside each Player Origin setting.
Multiple languages or currencies for the same market, what do you do?
Let's use South Africa and multiple languages as an example.
We might have players signed up with both Afrikaans as well as English as a language.
We'd then set up 2 Communication Profiles with different languages set for the Segment as well as inside of the Communication Profile setup; one with Afrikaans and the other one with English.
This same logic can be applied if you have multiple currencies for the same market.
